Metal-Expo’2019 Organizing Committee Discussed Event’s Program in Details

The Organizing Committee of Metal-Expo’2019, the 25th Jubilee International Industrial Exhibition met on April 9 to discuss the event’s program in details. Though the exhibition is seven months way the preparation for it is in full swing. According to Alexander Romanov, RUMSS President and General Manager of Metal Supply and Sales, the exposition of Metal-Expo’2019 is almost 100% arranged; more than 550 companies from 32 world countries will attend the event while more than 30 000 steel industry professionals are expected to visit the exhibition. The members of the Organizing Committee, among them heads of steel industry unions, institutions and associations discussed and revised Metal-Expo’2019 program consisting of more than 50 events: conferences, seminars, roundtables, master classes on the most pressing problems of the steel and steel-related industries. The members of the Organizing Committee also discussed practical arrangements of Metallurgy.Russia'2019, Litmash.Rusia’2019, Tube.Russia’2019 and SteelStructures’2019 international industrial exhibitions for steel industry, foundry solutions and steel structures manufacture (May 14-7, Expocenter, Moscow, Russia).

VTZ introduces new technology to improve stainless steel production efficiency

Volzhsky Pipe Plant, a branch of Pipe Metallurgical Company, has introduced a new technology to improve the efficiency of stainless steel production. The innovation helps to recover greater quantities of high-value alloying elements from scrap metal and to utilise raw materials more efficiently. Thanks to the new technology, it has become possible to more effectively recover residual chromium, nickel and molybdenum from high-alloy scrap. The number of "flushing" heats required to clean the furnace and steel casting ladles has also been reduced. The new scheme reduces ferroalloy consumption and improves the profitability of stainless steel rolled products output, as noted by TMK.
