Foundry industry: in the focus of investments

The international exhibitions Metallurgy.Russia'2025, Litmash.Russia'2025 and Pipes.Russia'2025, organised by Metal-Expo in cooperation with Expo Fusion, will take place from 3 to 5 June 2025. The expositions will take place in the new exhibition complex Timiryazev Centre in Moscow.

In recent years, there has been an increase in demand for metallurgical equipment and technologies for the foundry and metal processing industries, as well as professional interest in technical innovations in metallurgical processes in Russia. This underscores the substantial investment in heavy industry, driven by the objective of swiftly replacing imports in several sectors of the economy.

The foundry industry, which produces 5 million tonnes of products per year, is responsible for more than 60% of billets and castings used in the machine building, automotive, aircraft and shipbuilding sectors. Experts observe a high utilisation rate of existing foundry capacities. The industry is undergoing a period of modernisation, with the establishment of new production facilities and foundry sites. Demand for equipment for die casting and investment casting, as well as modifiers for out-of-furnace treatment of iron and steel, is growing significantly.

In the context of the new stage in the country's industrial development, the focus is on leveraging the most advanced technologies available. The Timiryazev Centre exhibition complex will play host to a range of engineering solutions from 3-5 June 2025. Leading companies such as Politeg-Met, TMK, RusLitTech, Litmashpribor, RLM Group, Melitek, Robotech, Eurolit, EuroTechLit, Intema Group, TradeLit Engineering, NPP Technologia, Uralchimplast, i3D, Alliance Prom, Karbohim-Astat, and Taganrog Foundry will be showcasing their latest products, equipment, and solutions.

Exhibitions by Russian, Chinese and Turkish foundry companies, who will be showcasing the latest technologies, engineering solutions and consumables, will allow visitors to familiarise themselves with modern processes in the foundry industry. The event will also provide an ideal setting for strengthening relations with existing partners and forge new ones, as well as for monitoring market conditions and prices.

The exhibitions will present the widest range of equipment and technologies for the production of cast iron, steel, rolled and tubular products, non-ferrous metal and aluminium products, as well as non-ferrous metal alloy products. Forum will include a rich business programme dedicated to the trends in the foundry industry and issues of innovative technologies in metallurgy and foundry industry. A unique communication platform will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas in a professional atmosphere, hold business meetings and round tables on a wide range of foundry and metallurgical technology topics.

Over the years, the complex of specialised exhibitions has established itself as a meeting place for a wide range of professionals from various areas of the metallurgical and foundry industries.Such events serve as an excellent working tool that helps the metallurgical business to keep abreast of industry development trends and find solutions to current problems. As part of the traditional Metallurgy.Russia'2025 and Litmash.Russia'2025 exhibitions, visitors will be able to get comprehensive information on technological innovations and trends covering the whole range of metals, foundry technologies, accessories and castings.

The international exhibitions Metallurgy.Russia'2025 and Litmash.Russia'2025 will be held with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the International Union "Metallurgmash", the Union of Machine Builders of Russia, the Russian Union of Metal Products Suppliers and the Russian Association of Foundrymen.

The Metal Supply and Sales Magazine magazine is proud to announce its role as the general information partner for this upcoming congress and exhibition event. We cordially invite you to participate in the exhibitions Metallurgy.Russia'2025, Litmash.Russia'2025 and Pipes.Russia'2025, which will be held from 3 to 5 June 2025.

VTZ introduces new technology to improve stainless steel production efficiency

Volzhsky Pipe Plant, a branch of Pipe Metallurgical Company, has introduced a new technology to improve the efficiency of stainless steel production. The innovation helps to recover greater quantities of high-value alloying elements from scrap metal and to utilise raw materials more efficiently. Thanks to the new technology, it has become possible to more effectively recover residual chromium, nickel and molybdenum from high-alloy scrap. The number of "flushing" heats required to clean the furnace and steel casting ladles has also been reduced. The new scheme reduces ferroalloy consumption and improves the profitability of stainless steel rolled products output, as noted by TMK.
