The exhibition quartet attracted the attention of 8,780 qualified professionals

From June 3 to 5, 2025, the international exhibitions SteelStructures’2025, Metallurgy/Litmash.Russia’2025, Tubes.Russia’2025, and Wire’2025 were held in Moscow. The events were organized by Metal-Expo in cooperation with Expo Fusion. A total of 450 companies from 7 countries presented their booths, and 8,780 professionals from the metallurgy and metal trading sectors, the foundry and hardware industries, and the construction sector visited the exhibitions. The influx of guests was so high that the organizers had to bring in an additional registration partner – the distribution company Novostal-Market.

A distinctive feature of this year’s edition of the traditional exhibition complex was its new venue – the modern and well-equipped Timiryazev Center in Moscow. Symbolically, the steel structures for its construction were supplied by EVRAZ STEEL BUILDING, whose partner network includes over 150 manufacturers of steel structures. It was here, on the grounds of the Timiryazev Agricultural Academy, that industry professionals had the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest industrial trends. Foundry companies were showcased in Chayanov Hall, while steel structure manufacturers exhibited in Vavilov Hall.

Modern engineering solutions, products, equipment, and auxiliary materials were presented by companies including Politeg-Met, RusLitTech, Litmashpribor, RLM Group, Melitek, Robotech, Evrolit, EuroTechLit, Intema Group, TradeLit Engineering, NPP Technologia, UralKhimPlast, i3D, Alliance Prom, Karbohim-Astat, Taganrog Foundry Plant, and other leading players in the foundry industry. Visitors showed keen interest in equipment for foundries, refractory materials for foundry furnaces, additive manufacturing, and 3D printing technologies, which are gradually replacing and supplementing traditional casting methods by accelerating the implementation of complex engineering tasks.

Exhibitions of foundry enterprises from Russia, China, India, Iran, Europe, and Turkey, including suppliers of cutting-edge technologies, engineering solutions, and consumables, enabled visitors to explore the most advanced foundry processes, strengthen existing partnerships, establish new connections, and receive direct technical consultations on selecting equipment specifications and technical solutions.

Participants and guests discussed the trends shaping the foundry industry. Unfortunately, the new investment cycle, which had only just begun two or three years ago, is already in decline. Nonetheless, the platform allowed for valuable discussions on innovative technologies in foundry production and enabled business meetings covering a broad range of technical topics.

The SteelStructures’2025 exhibition featured major industry players: steel structure plants, metal product manufacturers, equipment suppliers, engineering firms, architectural bureaus, and construction and installation companies.

A large pool of partners and business counterparts were welcomed at the booths of Severstal (including Severstal-Metiz and Severstal Steel Solutions), EVRAZ STEEL ecosystem, Novostal-M, MMK, TMK, and many others exhibiting at Steel Structures’2025. They held hundreds of scheduled business meetings and thousands of spontaneous ones.

The Timiryazev Center became a real hub for discussing pressing industry topics. Conferences were held on Quality Fasteners – Reliability of Machinery and Steel Structures and Modern Equipment and Technologies for Corrosion Protection of Steel Structures. Round tables took place on topics such as Development Using Carbon Steel Structures, Modern Zinc Powder-Based Corrosion Protection Technologies, and Development with Light Steel Thin-Walled Structures (LSTS).

The Subcommittee on Foundry and Forging & Pressing Production of the Committee for Metallurgy and Heavy Engineering of the Russian Engineering Union, together with the Russian Association of Foundrymen, held a session on Technological Sovereignty of Russia in Foundry and Forging & Pressing Production.

Topical issues were addressed at the scientific and practical conference Welding, Thermal Cutting, and Protective Coatings for Steel Structures.

One of the key business events was the plenary session Steel Structures: Key Trends of 2025, where major stakeholders and experts of the steel construction market shared insights on the current state and future outlook of the metal structures industry. Following the session, an awards ceremony was held for the winners of the Power of Metal competition.

Steel processors and manufacturers of coated steel products held their traditional meeting to discuss the latest market developments.

The General Partner of the exhibition, EVRAZ STEEL BUILDING, gathered its clients and customers for two panel discussions focused on reducing the cost of design and production of steel structures.

TsNIIPSK named after Melnikov organized the conference Operation of Structural Steelwork: A New Perspective on Challenges and Solutions and signed a partnership agreement with Moscow Polytechnic University.

To conclude the exhibition marathon, the XXVIII Annual Congress of the Russian Union of Metal and Steel Suppliers took place (and, in fact, continues today with a sightseeing program for Union members around Moscow).

It is important to understand that the topics discussed by the professional community at these specialized events are of critical importance in shaping strategies to address accumulated industry challenges. It is no exaggeration to say that this kind of coordination among all stakeholders genuinely contributes to the development of the foundry industry and the promotion of steel product usage in construction.

VTZ introduces new technology to improve stainless steel production efficiency

Volzhsky Pipe Plant, a branch of Pipe Metallurgical Company, has introduced a new technology to improve the efficiency of stainless steel production. The innovation helps to recover greater quantities of high-value alloying elements from scrap metal and to utilise raw materials more efficiently. Thanks to the new technology, it has become possible to more effectively recover residual chromium, nickel and molybdenum from high-alloy scrap. The number of "flushing" heats required to clean the furnace and steel casting ladles has also been reduced. The new scheme reduces ferroalloy consumption and improves the profitability of stainless steel rolled products output, as noted by TMK.
