Metal-Expo Space: More than 80% Already Booked

The meeting of Metal-Expo Organizing Committee dedicated to the 55-th Anniversary of the First Manned Space Flight was held on 19 April in Zvyozdny Gorodok. The members of the Organizing Committee discussed issues of Metal-Expo’2016 exposition arranging and proposed a few new topics to be included in the Metal-Expo events program. According to A. Romanov, President of the Russian Union of Metal and Steel Suppliers, roughly estimated, more than 600 companies from 35 world countries will exhibit in Metal-Expo’2016 while more than 30 thousand professionals are expected to visit the show.

The members of the Organizing Committee paid special attention to SteelStructures’2016 , the new international project by Metal-Expo for metal construction professionals (June 6 – 9, 2016, Expocentre, Moscow, Russia). Metal construction experts will have a good opportunity to discuss the most pressing problems of the industry including issues of statutory regulation and the best construction projects with the use of steel and aluminium structures. SteelStructures’2016 will be held in parallel to Metallurgy-Litmash, Tube.Russia, Aluminium/ Non-Ferrous’2016 International Exhibitions.

VTZ introduces new technology to improve stainless steel production efficiency

Volzhsky Pipe Plant, a branch of Pipe Metallurgical Company, has introduced a new technology to improve the efficiency of stainless steel production. The innovation helps to recover greater quantities of high-value alloying elements from scrap metal and to utilise raw materials more efficiently. Thanks to the new technology, it has become possible to more effectively recover residual chromium, nickel and molybdenum from high-alloy scrap. The number of "flushing" heats required to clean the furnace and steel casting ladles has also been reduced. The new scheme reduces ferroalloy consumption and improves the profitability of stainless steel rolled products output, as noted by TMK.
