More than 3k Industry Professionals Visited SteelStructures’2018

125 steel structures manufacturers and steel rolled stock suppliers, equipment distributors, design bureaus, and research institutions exhibited at SteelStructures’2018 in Moscow to present their products lines, solutions and innovations while more than 3k metal construction industry professionals visited the event. VTZ introduces new technology to improve stainless steel production efficiency

Volzhsky Pipe Plant, a branch of Pipe Metallurgical Company, has introduced a new technology to improve the efficiency of stainless steel production. The innovation helps to recover greater quantities of high-value alloying elements from scrap metal and to utilise raw materials more efficiently. Thanks to the new technology, it has become possible to more effectively recover residual chromium, nickel and molybdenum from high-alloy scrap. The number of "flushing" heats required to clean the furnace and steel casting ladles has also been reduced. The new scheme reduces ferroalloy consumption and improves the profitability of stainless steel rolled products output, as noted by TMK.
