Mechel Breaks Personal Record for Daily Rail Products Output

Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant (part of Mechel) broke personal record for daily rail products output. 3.3kt of rail products against the average 2.9kt were manufactured in one day on the universal structural mill. The output record was broken before as well. Thus in November 2017 daily rail products manufacture reached 3.2kt. The main consumer of rails P65, 100m in length is Russian Railways.

The universal structural mill commissioned in 2013 produces high quality structural rolled products: rails of up to 100m in length and beams. The strategy of the plant includes entering new export markets. In Q1 2018, the plant certified rails production in compliance with TSI. Mechel group will exhibit the whole range of products on its stand at Metal-Expo’2018 in November.
