Metal-Expo'2019 Opened in Moscow
Metal-Expo'2019, the 25th Jubilee International Industrial Exhibition was opened at VDNHa Fairgrounds on November 12, by a drum roll performed by girl drummers in hussar uniforms. When opening the ceremony Alexander Romanov, Co-chairman of Metal-Expo Organizing Committee and RUMSS President said: "The first exhibition was held in February 1995 on the exhibition space 50 times smaller than this one. Over its 25 year history the exhibition reflected all the stages of transformation of the national steel industry. Establishment of big steel holdings and massive investments in modernization brought the Russian steel industry to a new level".
Metal-Expo proved to be the main event for steel industry professionals and the main business platform for leading steel companies, tube producers, hardware manufacturers, ferrous and non-ferrous rolled products manufacturers, high conversion products suppliers, steel service centers as well as engineers, oil and gas men, builders etc.
Some 600 companies from 34 world countries with the common facilities reaching 300mt of ferrous and non-ferrous products accounting for 1/6 of the global steel production attend the event. Among Metal-Expo'2019 exhibitors 140 are from the EU, around 100 are from China, around 300 are from Russia and the CIS etc. Some17k industry professionals of 30k expected visitors already registered online to visit the event. During the 4 days of the event some 3k steel industry professionals will attend to their stands.
"The steel industry as one of the bases of the national economy is different now from what it was 5 or 10 years ago. New solutions, high level of production arrangement, involvement in national projects and social programs form the new reality of the national steel industry' said Alexey Kanaev, senator of the State Duma.
"We have been together all these 25 years for the exhibition has united all those involved in the steel industry" said Boris Sivak, METALLURGMASH President and a member of the Metal-Expo Organizing Committee. He also noted that the program of the next edition of Metal-Expo was already underway.
Among the speakers also were Pavel Servatinsky, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Viktor Cherepov, Vice-President, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Anna Kuzmentko, Deputy Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial Policy of the city of Moscow, Andrey Deineko, General Manager, Metprom Group and many more.
