MMK Trading Company is progressively implementing the company's development strategy

A strategic meeting of MMK Trading Company (MMK TradingCompany LLC) was held in Magnitogorsk with the participation of representatives of the company's headquarters and heads of divisions from 36 cities of the country - from Vladivostok to St. Petersburg. The implementation of the company's development strategy, the results of its activities in 2024 and the tasks for 2025 were discussed in a team format.

Opening the meeting, Grigory Shchurov, Director of MMK,Trading Company noted that last year the company achieved record sales of 1.521 million tonnes of steel products and significantly increased its metal processing capacity. At the same time, the turnover of the company's own warehouses increased due to the expansion of space and an increase in the number of lifting mechanisms. "The digitalisation of the company's business continues, including the implementation of the Smart Warehouse project and the introduction of barcoding. In general, the company's development is customer-oriented and affects the entire life cycle of products," he emphasised.

In the current year, according to the spokesman, Trading Company aims to further increase the efficiency of sales via the marketplace, develop the network of branches and warehouses, and process rolled metal products. Special attention will be paid to human resources development and cost optimisation.

During the speeches of other representatives of the company's headquarters, current issues of MMK's commercial, financial and economic activity were addressed. In turn, the heads of the company's divisions shared their experiences in dealing with customers and organising local warehouse operations. As part of the discussion, the participants of the meeting discussed the nuances of interaction within the company and business divisions.

Sergey Ushakov, MMK's Deputy General Director for Commerce, assessed the work of the trading company, its wide geographical distribution of sales and their volume, noting the company's important role in the sale of MMK Group products and its obvious achievements against the backdrop of the current economic situation. Together with Mr Ivan Radyukevich, MMK's Sales Director, he took part in the awarding of prizes to the company's best departments and employees on the basis of the year's results.

After the business part of the meeting, the participants had a guided tour of the plant's workshops and visited the city resort "Attraction".

VTZ introduces new technology to improve stainless steel production efficiency

Volzhsky Pipe Plant, a branch of Pipe Metallurgical Company, has introduced a new technology to improve the efficiency of stainless steel production. The innovation helps to recover greater quantities of high-value alloying elements from scrap metal and to utilise raw materials more efficiently. Thanks to the new technology, it has become possible to more effectively recover residual chromium, nickel and molybdenum from high-alloy scrap. The number of "flushing" heats required to clean the furnace and steel casting ladles has also been reduced. The new scheme reduces ferroalloy consumption and improves the profitability of stainless steel rolled products output, as noted by TMK.
