Severstal is increasing the share of new products in its sales portfolio and improving their efficiency

Severstal continues to increase the share of new products in its sales portfolio by developing innovative steels and solutions for customers in key industries in Russia.

Severstal's innovations for infrastructure projects and the construction segment include Grani Pro, a multifaceted trough profile sheet, which is a Russian alternative to the traditional Larsen sheet.

For the machine building industry, Severstal continued to develop the POWERS range of wear-resistant and high-strength steels.

A new grade - 05ХГГ2БА, developed and mastered jointly with Volgogradneftemash and VNIINEFTEMASH, has appeared in the Cordis range of corrosion-resistant steels.

For the oil and gas sector, Severstal produces Kolchuga coated pipes, which can be used to construct underwater passages in rocky ground using horizontal directional drilling and Direct Pipe technology.

"Developing and mastering new products remains part of Severstal's long-term strategy. We are dedicated not only to providing unique steel grades, but also to delivering integrated turnkey solutions that address the needs of our customers, including import substitution and enhancing process efficiency. This strategy has already proven its relevance, allowing us to increase the financial effect of new products by 62% by the end of 2024. Over the annual cycle, the volume of finished solutions in our sales portfolio increased by 20% to 42 thousand tonnes. We see further potential in this area and have strengthened our development team with new competencies in design and engineering, which will allow us to develop our computer modelling and advanced engineering capabilities," says Alexander Shevelev, CEO of Severstal.
